Stellar and DTCC announce tokenization partnership

DTCC, one of the world’s largest post-trade market infrastructure providers, said it will connect its tokenized securities platform to the Stellar Network in the first half of 2027.

The partnership targets assets held by DTC, including Russell 1000 stocks and US Treasuries, bringing large pools of traditional securities to the chain.

DTCC processed approximately $4.7 quadrillion dollars in securities transactions last year.

Nadine Shukr, Managing Director and Global Head of Digital Assets at DTCC, praised Stellar’s institutional credentials, saying, “Stellar’s proven track record with on-chain institutional assets is an important factor in our evaluation of blockchain networks. Its focus on compliance, transaction throughput, and low-cost operations meets our stringent standards and will help ensure we are ready to grow as blockchain networks are increasingly used for real-world asset transactions.”

The statement portrays the collaboration as a calculated step towards scalable and compatible tokenization of mainstream financial instruments.

This arrangement positions Stellar as a candidate for issuing and settling high-volume, regulated tokens.

DTCC selection criteria, which include compliance features, production capacity and cost effectiveness, reflect the operational requirements of institutional markets.

According to market observers, the development could encourage other market infrastructures to explore similar integrations.

“Stellar’s proven compliance architecture, open infrastructure and risk management capabilities are aligned with market demands and expectations,” said Denelle Dixon, CEO and CEO of the Stellar Development Foundation. “Our network was built for this moment – we have always believed that the utility of blockchain for finance is the rail on which institutional-grade markets can depend.”

The intraday rally in Stellar (XLM) appears to be driven in part by speculative flows as Bitcoin rebounds from intraday lows.

The move also signals renewed investor interest in the potential role Stellar plays in the institutional tokenization market.

From a technical standpoint, XLM has broken into a short-term resistance area near $0.15, an area that previously served as a swing high.

Staying above this level would reinforce the view that new buying pressure is entering the market.

The token has already retested intraday support after the breakout.

A decisive close above the last resistance area could open the way towards higher horizontal supply levels.

On the downside, failure to sustain the breakout could see XLM pull back towards key support areas defined by the major moving averages, where buyers previously emerged.
