The Ulster Farmers’ Union (UFU) encourages its members to report issues with the Farming with Nature Transition application process.
As applications for the second year of the scheme continue, the union is collecting feedback from members to identify any practical or technical issues that may prevent farmers from implementing or limiting the options available to them.
The UFU said these issues would then be formally raised with the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (Dayra).

UFU said it has already worked with DAERA and other stakeholders to improve aspects of the scheme and will continue to push for changes where improvements are needed.
John McClenaghan, President of the UFU, said: “The Farming with Nature Transformation Scheme offers farmers the opportunity to undertake a range of environmental actions while receiving financial support.”
“As with any development scheme, it is important that the practical issues identified by farmers are recognized and addressed.
“We are keen to hear from any members who have had difficulties with their application.
“Whether it is an issue with the online system, eligibility, timing or practical implementation of the measures, we want to build a clear evidence base so that these concerns can be formally raised with DAERA.”
“Constructive feedback from members has already helped shape future improvements to the scheme,” McClenaghan added.
He added: “We know there are practical challenges surrounding some of the measures this year, and by gathering evidence now we can work to ensure these issues are taken into account as the scheme develops.”
UFU members who experience problems are encouraged to contact their Technical Officer, and provide as much detail as possible about the problems encountered.
