Dudley Farm in County Tipperary, which hosted the Pure Irish Friesian Club open day, saw 20 purebred heifer calves sell for a top price of €1,500.
The online sale, which ran from July 22 to July 25, was facilitated by the Mid Tipperary Co-operative Livestock Market (Thurles Mart).
It included a shipment of beef calves from Dickiana herdHis birth dates range from January 24 to March 10.
Selling the calf
Dekeana Trailblazer Lil born on January 30 topped the sale at €1,500.
The lineage produced the Friesian Braddash Trailblazer (FR1512)90.63% pure Friesian with an Economic Breeding Index (EBI) of €136.
The calf is out Deciana Lille 1345 EX90 3Eone of the highest protein producing cows in the Deciana herd.
The dam, who is currently in her eighth lactation, has an EBI of €153.
It produced 7,691 kg of milk with 4.03% fat and 3.76% protein in 2025, equivalent to 599 kg of milk solids (MS).
The same calf had a fertility sub-index of €119, with a milk sub-index of -€24 and a fertility sub-index of €63.

The Dekeana Trailblazer Judy and Dekeana Trailblazer Savory were the next bestsellers, earning €1,450 each.
Judy Diqiana Trailblazer was born on January 24, making her the largest calf in the group.
It has an EBI of €146 with a milk sub-index of €8 and a fertility sub-index of €79.
She was also sired by, and came from, Braddash Trailblazer Dikyana Adema Judi 1331 EX90one of the best performing cows in the Deciana herd.
Dekeana Adema Judy 1331 EX90 has an EBI of €112, and produced 8,044 kg of milk in 2025, at 3.76% fat and 3.68% protein, reaching 598 kg/MS.
She is expected to produce 672kg/MS during her eighth lactation this year.

Dekeana Trailblazer Savory, born on February 4 with an EBI of €136, also sold for €1,450.
This calf was also sired by Braddash Trailblazer and is out of the race Deciana and Delicious 1613 VG85a cow worth €136 from EBI produced 7,214 kg of milk at 4.22% fat and 3.61% protein, for a total of 566 kg/MS in 2025.
Both her grandfather and great-grandfather are EX90 cows, while her great-grandfather is a Diamond Award winner.

Braddash Trailblazer wasn’t the only sire to have top-selling calves, with the likes of Deciana Excalibur Gin from Lesmoligan Excalibur (FR4424) Sold for €1,400
Deciana Centurion Lil 3, give birth to him (IG) FERODA CENTURION 1 (FR2030) He received 1,350 euros, and Dickiana Harry Savory, who sired him Karikchok Harrier 3465 Sold for €1,300.
Each calf sells for €1,000 or more, with an average overall sale of €1,208.
