The professional law enforcement group supports the Cryptocurrency CLARITY Act

More support has been thrown behind the Clarity Act as lawmakers rush to move past the long-awaited bill. This time from the Major City Mayors Association.

The nonprofit — made up of police chiefs from major U.S. cities — said Thursday it was pleased with how the bill dealt with financial crimes.

Lawmakers hope the Clarity Act will be passed before Congress leaves for its August recess. Although the bill was drafted by both the Republican and Democratic parties, some Democrats are dissatisfied with the current version.
