All roads lead to Brosna in Co. Kerry over the weekend as the Irish Holstein Friesian Association (IHFA) held its annual stock judging event.
The event was held on the farm of the Curtens family, who run the highly acclaimed Greenlawn herd.
The Greenlawn herd, which was crowned the “80 Cows and Under” herd at the 2025 IHFA National Herd Competition, runs a relatively unconventional system, selling both first and second lactation cows each spring at the annual Greenlawn auction.
The herd’s knowledge and success in the pedigree industry made it a suitable location to hold a stock judging event.

The Kerry Holstein Friesian Breeders’ Club said: “With such high-quality combinations of cows and heifers, the judges had to go all out.”
Despite the intense competition, the judges have yet to crown a champion in each category.
The list of winners is as follows;
Under 12

12-17 years old

18-26 years old

The group also expressed its thanks to event sponsors Kensella and to the Curtin family for hosting the event.
