The government of Bhutan transfers part of its bitcoin (Bitcoin) holdings to a different wallet.
Cryptocurrency deanonymization platform Arkham reports that the Bhutan government recently transferred $7 million worth of BTC to a separate witness (SegWit) address.
Arkham He says This move may indicate a possible transfer or sale.
“Bhutan will periodically transfer small amounts of Bitcoin to Segwit addresses, which appear to be separate from its pool of Bitcoin holdings. It has fallen by 10,000 BTC from its peak of approximately 13,390 BTC in October 2024.”
The cryptocurrency intelligence platform notes that the Bhutan government has transferred $237.39 million worth of Bitcoin from its wallets to Segwit addresses since the beginning of 2026.

The government of Bhutan currently owns $234.33 million worth of Bitcoin and approximately $68,000 worth of Ethereum (Ethereum) for each Data From Arkham.
