A major dental benefits provider, which manages dental insurance and benefits programs for millions of members, says it has suffered a cybersecurity breach.

“DentaQuest is actively managing a cybersecurity incident that involved unauthorized access to a limited portion of our network.
Upon discovery of the initial incident, we took immediate action to secure our environment, contain the attack, and mitigate the threat.
Data breach site HaveIBeenPwned He says The leak affects about 2.6 million accounts, with names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, government-issued IDs, and health insurance information compromised.
The company says it quickly contained the threat, enlisted the help of forensic experts and law enforcement, and is now determining the full scope of the threat.
There have been no interruptions to services, but notifications will be sent to affected individuals.
Class action lawsuits are under investigation as affected members pursue remedies for disclosure of highly sensitive health and personal data.
