Bitcoin investor Lark Davis described Cardano, Polkadot, Ethereum Classic, and Arbitrum as the most overvalued cryptocurrencies on his top 100 coins list. Although these projects carry multi-billion dollar valuations, they still show weak network activity and declining revenues.
According to Davis, these networks have good technology in some cases, but their ecosystems have failed to generate enough demand to justify their market value.
Top four most overvalued altcoins
according to DavisThese networks have good technology in some cases, but their ecosystems fail to generate enough demand to justify their market value.
Cardano is still struggling to attract users
Cardano topped Davis’ list, noting that the network processes about 30,000 transactions per day, has only 10,000 daily active addresses, and generates roughly $2,000 in daily application revenue despite maintaining a market cap of about $6 billion.
Token Terminal data shows that Cardano only generates $1.9 million in revenue fees, which lags far behind networks like Solana and Tron, which generate more than $603 million and $581 million in weekly revenue, respectively.

Davis wondered why Cardano continues to carry such a high valuation if network usage remains relatively low. Meanwhile, ADA is trading near $0.162, still roughly 95% below its all-time high.
Polkadot’s tokenization model faces criticism
Davis believes Polkadot’s biggest problem is not its technology, but rather its token utility. He noted that the Polkadot main chain only records around 2,400 daily active users, while its TVL is still close to $40 million.
In comparison, many competing Layer 1 and Layer 2 networks handle a much larger number of users and hold billions of dollars in DeFi.

According to Davis, governance, staking and underlying sales have failed to create enough real demand for the DOT token.
As of now, DOT is currently trading around $0.838, down about 98.5% from its all-time high.
Ethereum Classic and Arbitrum are also on the list
Davis also criticized Ethereum Classic, saying that the blockchain has become a “ghost town.” Despite maintaining a market capitalization of over $1.1 billion, Ethereum Classic only has about 1,300 daily active addresses, about $150,000 in TVL, and about $72,000 in on-chain stablecoins.
As of now, ETC is trading near $6.97, roughly 96% below its record high.
Finally, Davis targeted Arbitrum (ARB). While he acknowledged that Arbitrum has strong blockchain technology, he argued that the ARB token does not receive enough value because the revenue generated by Offchain Labs does not directly benefit token holders.
Although Arbitrum serves around 2.2 million per month Active and generating monthly revenue of about $570,000, Davis believes the governance token itself has very limited use. ARB is currently trading near $0.0866, down more than 96% from its all-time high.
While Davis believes these projects are still largely overvalued, proponents argue that the market value does not depend solely on current activity.
