Morgan Stanley details opportunities outside of tech trading, mentioning energy, infrastructure, gold and more

Financial services giant Morgan Stanley is unveiling alternative business opportunities outside the technology sector.

In new interview The bank is diversifying its clients’ portfolios by investing money in energy, gold and infrastructure, Kathleen Entwistle, director of private wealth management and advisor at Morgan Stanley, says on CNBC TV.

“Anyone who has been participating in the market is very happy at this moment. The question is, whether or not you can continue to find opportunities. And we believe there are opportunities out there. You just have to be a little conscious and careful about where you go…

Where are the opportunities, let’s say outside of technology trading? The client says we want to diversify. We don’t want to be fully involved in chips and meta and all that.

We place clients in real assets right now. So we’re also looking at energy infrastructure, things like that, and the digital space. So I think that’s an area we can look at.

Entwistle goes on to clarify what she meant by noting that the bank places clients’ money in “real assets.”

“When we think about real assets, we think about some things inside the market, and certainly outside the market as well. But we like hedge funds.

We like, you know, gold and silver and things like that. We love the energy and different areas that will respond well to the type of market we are in.
