Iran’s chief negotiator continues to identify violations of the current ceasefire agreement

Not many things seem to be resolved at the moment in the Middle East. All the terms of the deal were put on the table two weeks ago, but it appears the United States and Iran still cannot meet in the middle. Iranian chief negotiator Qalibaf said:

“The naval blockade and escalating war crimes in Lebanon by the genocidal Zionist regime are clear evidence of US non-compliance with the ceasefire. Every choice has a price, and the bill is due. It will all fall into place.”

He continues to harp on violating the initial ceasefire agreement, which is fair because these are two things the United States and Iran must agree on before nuclear discussions begin. All of this will be drawn up in a deal that both sides will announce, but unfortunately, they are still unable to reach a compromise.

They are among four key conditions that the two sides need not only to agree to but also adhere to within the next 60 days.

If any of these conditions fail to hold, any deal or agreement will fall apart. What’s worse is that even today both sides cannot agree – even just on a visual level – to find a compromise despite constant talk that a deal is “very close” and “imminent”.

The markets are still mostly hopeful, but are traders and investors underestimating the whole situation? It definitely deserves some consideration.
