Decision makers, developers and industry experts will gather later this month for a one-day conference focused on the biomethane sector in Ireland.
The second edition of Biomethane Day Ireland will be held on Wednesday 24 June at the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel in Dublin.
This event is organized by the Biomethane RNG channel, a media platform entirely dedicated to biomethane.
Nevin Renewable Gas and AB Energy have returned as the main sponsors of the conference.

Minister for Climate, Energy and Environment, Darragh O’Brien, will open the day as keynote speaker.
It is now two years since the launch of the National Biomethane Strategy in Ireland.
Ireland aims to produce up to 5.7 terawatt-hours of biomethane per year by 2030, roughly enough to meet 10% of the country’s gas demand.
The Government’s legislation on the Renewable Heat Obligation (RHO) is due to be published in the coming weeks.
The RHO proposed providing a “double” for locally produced biomethane.
Multipliers are mechanisms to increase the credit earned for certain types of fuel within a commitment plan.
However, European CommissionThe company has now considered that the proposed multiplier for the original biomethane is not compatible with EU internal market rules.

The conference will explore the latest developments in the rollout of biomethane in Ireland, how RHO and national incentive schemes are shaping investment decisions, and compare progress here with other European markets.
The event will also showcase real case studies of innovative technology projects and solutions, while creating a networking opportunity for developers, farmers, utilities, policy makers and investors.
As Irish biomethane projects progress into implementation, the conference will include several panel discussions, some of which will be moderated Agriland Editor Stella Meehan.
Topics to be covered include regulation, health and safety standards, feedstocks, technologies that drive biomethane production, and project construction and development.
“From strategy to land-based steel projects, from agribusiness to grid injection, from decarbonisation targets to banking finance – this second edition is about turning ambition into delivery.
“If the first year was about vision, this year is about implementation,” conference organizers said.
