Zetor launches ‘universally usable’ tractor for ‘daily operations’

Zetor Tractors is expanding its product range with the new 5 Series model range, consisting of four-cylinder tractors with capacities ranging from 102hp to 122hp.

The prototype of the new tractor will make its debut from May 23 to 24 at the Polish exhibition Zielone AGRO SHOW.

The new tractors are primarily aimed at farmers and agribusinesses looking for a “robust, mechanically simple, universally usable tractor for everyday operations,” Zetor said.

Tractors are intended for jobs such as front-end loader work, livestock farming, transportation, field work and municipal applications.

CEO of Zetor tractors“The 5 Series represents exactly the type of tractor many customers are looking for today – a robust, mechanically efficient and operationally efficient machine without unnecessary complexity,” said Robert Harman.

“Our goal was to deliver a tractor that offered high utility value, simple service and standards that matched the needs of European farmers.”

New Zetor collection

The company said that the new model range builds on Zetor’s long experience in the 100-125 hp tractor segment.

Compared to the previous Proxima range, it is described as offering a stronger construction, higher operating weight, more robust hydraulic system and higher rear linkage lift capacity.

These parameters improve tractor stability, payload capacity and overall ease of use in practical operation.

From the summer onwards, the 5 Series will consist of three models with 102 hp, 113 hp and 122 hp.

The tractors will be powered by four-cylinder FPT engines that adhere to Stage 5 emission standards, and are equipped with common rail injection and a DPF particulate filter.

The 102 hp 5100 model will be equipped with a basic mechanical transmission featuring 24 forward gears and 24 reverse gears in three working ranges, including a reverse mechanical transmission and a mechanical splitter.

The 113 hp and 122 hp 5110 and 5120 will have a more comfortable transmission variant with the same number of forward and reverse gears.

In addition, this model will be equipped with a PowerShuttle inverter and a two-stage PowerShift distributor with a maximum design speed of 40 km/h.

The hydraulic system will reportedly offer four rear hydraulic circuits, a pump output of 65 liters per minute (5100) or 80 liters per minute (5110 and 5120), and an electro-hydraulicly controlled three-point rear linkage with a maximum lift capacity of 4,500 kg on the 5100 and 5,500 kg on the 5110 and 5120.

The cab will provide a comfortable workspace for the operator, good visibility, intuitive controls and comfort features including air conditioning, according to Zetor.

cooperation

The new model range has been developed in collaboration with Hattat Traktor, a tractor manufacturer with extensive experience in original equipment manufacturing (OEM) for global agricultural machinery brands such as John Deere, Valtra and Massey Ferguson.

“The development of modern agricultural machinery now depends on combining expertise, technologies and strong manufacturing partnerships,” Harman added.

“Our goal was to return the ZETOR brand to this key performance segment as quickly as possible and provide customers with not only a robust, technically proven and affordable solution, but also a very strong service network and excellent spare parts availability.”

Within the project, ZETOR focused mainly on the final configuration of the tractor for European markets, testing it in real operating conditions.

Sales are scheduled to begin in the summer of this year, several months earlier than the original plan.

Tractor manufacturing

Zetor Tractors is a Czech tractor manufacturer with over 80 years of experience in developing and producing its “famous” red tractors in Brno.

The manufacturer offers a range of machines with outputs ranging from 15 hp to 170 hp as well as front-end loaders.

Last year, Zetor launched the new Series 6 model.
