The NBA-inspired tournament challenges traders around the world through three competitive stages: Toss, Knockout, and Buzzer-Beater.

Registration runs from May 11-28, and participants select one of 30 teams via the client portal before the start on June 1. The competition runs until July 31 across three stages, ending with one winning team, while the best traders on the team will win tickets to an NBA match as well as additional rewards.
The tournament is centered around the advertising campaign theme of “Hit the Markets Buzzer Beater,” draws inspiration from the decisive final shot in basketball, and highlights how success in both sports and trading often depends on accuracy and timing at the right moment.
The journey begins with the hurling stage, the regular season entry stage, where participants begin competing. Similar to a basketball tip, this phase allows traders to position themselves for an early advantage, setting the performance for teams that advance and setting the tone for the competition ahead.
The second stage, knockout, offers performance-based elimination, requiring teams to demonstrate consistency and strong trading strategies to remain in the tournament. With pressure high, only teams that maintain strong results advance. This stage begins with the qualifying rounds, followed by the quarter-finals.
The final stage, Buzzer-Beater, brings together the high-performing teams for the deciding rounds, starting with the semi-finals, where four teams compete for a place in the next stage. The tournament then advances to the MVP Finals, where the two remaining teams face off for the title. Victory belongs to those who perform with precision and composure in decisive moments.
Participants will compete for rewards throughout each stage of the tournament, with high-performing teams recognized along the way. The winning team of 10 traders may be eligible for tiered bonuses, with prizes awarded to eligible participants. The top two winners will receive exclusive rewards, including an NBA game ticket, an exclusive STARTRADER basketball, an NBA store voucher, and a $10,000 cash prize.
