Vice President Vance is still in Washington

Yesterday, Trump himself said that Vice President J.D. Vance was on his way to Pakistan, but that turned out to be untrue. Now, Axios reports that he remains in Washington, citing a White House official.

The official said: “Additional political meetings are being held at the White House today in which the Vice President will participate.”

Now I think this could be an OpSec because Vance doesn’t want to be vulnerable if the ceasefire collapses but that’s not a good sign.

Air raid sirens were sounded in Israel a short time ago, but were determined to be a false alarm.

The oil market can show you how sentiment is developing today.

Now the New York Times reports: Vance was scheduled to leave for negotiations with Iran this morning, and his flight has been postponed as he heads to the White House.

From Fares Iran: Khezarian, Member of the National Security Committee of Parliament. He added, “Iran does not intend to participate in the negotiations under the current circumstances unless those circumstances change.”

And now this from Axios:

Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner also remain in the United States. The plane that was supposed to take them this morning from Miami to Europe and to Pakistan had only left several minutes ago and was now on its way to Washington, DC.

These are not good signs as we are starting to feel that the dance around removing the blockade on Iran and who is committed to coming first is a real hurdle. This is not a great start because there are other, more difficult things to solve after that.
