For over 15 years, we have Screening stocks and ETFs We have led the way in online market research. In this post, we introduce two new features that make Finviz Screener even more dynamic: Daily summary column and Sorting flags.
Sorting Flags: Quickly name stocks and ETFs
One of the biggest challenges when screening stocks is keeping track of what you actually looked at and why the indicator caught your attention. Our new Screener Flags solve this problem by allowing you to add colorful visual labels directly to indicators in the Screener. Hover your mouse pointer to the far right of the sorter to add a tag:

This new flag tool acts as visual markers that help categorize and organize indicators based on your strategy. Flags come in different colors including green, red, blue, yellow and more. You’ll soon be able to track them across your entire Finviz experience.
For example, you might use:
• Green flags for stocks that are trending upward
• Red flags for stocks you see on the short side
• Blue flags for companies you want to search for later
• Yellow flags for earnings watchlists
• Purple flags for long-term ideas
Once marked, these indicators instantly stand out in your display, making it much easier to scan large lists of stocks and identify symbols that interest you.
Daily news summary: Context inside the screening machine
The second major upgrade is our new Daily Digest column. When researching stocks, one of the first questions traders ask is simple: Why is this stock moving this way?
The Daily Digest column answers this question instantly by displaying a quick headline summarizing the latest news or events related to that indicator. Instead of opening multiple tabs or searching for news manually, traders can now see what’s moving the stock directly along with screening data like this:

For example, while examining big volume movers or stocks shooting to new highs, the Daily Digest column will feature headlines about earnings announcements, analyst upgrades, acquisitions, product launches or other catalysts behind the move.
To enable it:
Step 1: Open Finviz Scan Tool
Step 2: Switch to custom view
Step 3: Click Settings
Step 4: Check the new Daily Digest box to turn it on
This is just the beginning of what we are building. Stay tuned as more releases and capabilities are added to your plan.
